The Snow Queen @ The Dukes

Today we made the most of the sunshine and headed up the road to Levens Kitchen. The Kitchen (cafe) is attached to the main House. It’s a lovely Elizabethan house surrounded by amazing greenery. There is a gift shop and even a bakery if you just fancy a takeaway pasty! All in the coffees and cake cost just over £10 which we thought was very reasonable considering the cake was easily big enough for both of us. We enjoyed a leisurly walk through the park, deer spotting and our 8 month old enjoyed it too! This is a great way to spend the morning and get some fresh air.

Castle Comedy - Lancaster Castle is a new home to the ‘Comedy at the Castle’ festival. It has been running at Warrick Castle since 2023 but they’re adding a new venue so the laughter will spread to us up here on - June 19-21. They’ve got a top line up over three nights so definitely worth checkin out if you’re a fan of laughing!

Lancaster Castle - Well done to Lancaster Council Museum Service. Their tour of the Castle won an award for the ‘Best Story Told’. VisitEngland gave the tour 92%. Fantastic work! Visit info.

Bare Christmas Tree - A 20ft Christmas tree will be the main attraction in Bare! You can play a part to make sure it’s an annual feature by donating £5 to see your name appear on Santa’s nice list!

New Aldi in Scotforth - Look out Scotforth Rd, you could well have a new Aldi store at Lawsons Brigde. Councillors have recommended that planning permission is granted. Value for money coming soon!
