During the Christmas break I met up with a couple of good friends in town. We wandered around and someone suggested coffee. As one does, we headed to Atkinsons. I must confess, I had never been to the Castle location. So, following the crowd I found myself at that location. It’s a beautiful coffee shop, very spacious, a peaceful vibe and with no need to mention - coffee to perfection. My invitation would be, grab a friend or even just a good book, if you’re on your own. Head down on a fresh crisp morning and order an americano with no milk. Superb.

Exciting news for sport enthusiasts. The Tour-de-France is taking a Tour detour around our way. On the way from Keswick, they’re wheelin through Milnthorpe, Carnforth, BLS, Morecambe and Lancaster. Chiptech for Charity - A tech business based in Lancaster has chosen to give their employees two days per year to get involved in charity work. Be that litter picking, foodbanks, you name it theres scope to get involved. What might our towns look like if the entire workforce thought like this? I have to say, I’m all for it. Read more.

Lancaster Cadets - the Cadets from Ripley St. Thomas have won their Regional Air Squadron Trophy. They progress to the national competition and an opportunity to shine on the big stage. Well done gang! Read more.

The Castle is Combating Disease - Look towards Lancaster Castle on 26th Jan and you’ll see it lit up. This is part of a Societi Foundation national campaign to raise awareness of Kawasaki Disease. It’s an important cause not least because 25% of children affected by the disease grow up with heart damage.
